Pencil Lines

Here’s a new piece I’m working on in a 5″ x 8″ sketchbook. Similar to the cityscape drawing I previously did, the piece is completely out of my head, thought based on different structures I’ve seen over time. These are the relatively final pencil lines, and next up is the ink. Wish me luck!

    1. No rulers, just a steady a hand as possible. This will be inked with Pigma Micron pens. To prevent smudging, my plan is to work from upper left to lower right, and keep a sheet of tracing vellum under my hand as I draw.

    1. Thanks; a lot of it is based on memories of buildings I’ve not only spent plenty of time looking at, but also sketching. Not surprisingly, some of these buildings are similar to those you find along train routes in Washington, DC and Long Island.
