Lunch Lines

These were sketched on corner in the Foggy Bottom/West End neighborhood of Washington, DC. The beauty of urban settings is that if you’re ever looking to sketch something, all you have to do is step outside and look around, as I did when I stepped out for lunch and a quick sketch on a mild early winter afternoon.

    1. For color, I’m using standard Prismacolor Design markers. They’re dual-tipped, so I’ve got a fine point for detail and a broad tip for larger color washes. Even though the color is pretty rich, they don’t cause the ink lines underneath (usually either fountain pen ink or gel pen ink) to blur, and it doesn’t bleed through the paper too much at all.
